UP FOR AUCTION:

old Metal Badge from Peninsular Metal Products Corporation:

2.25-inch by 1.5-inch Badge

stating:

"Peninsular Metal Products Corp., PMPC, Detroit, Mich."

(Probably an Identification Badge to be Worn on someone's Lapel)

This is a badge from approximately 1920's or 1930's.  It has Art Deco designs.

The badge opens up to place a number or name inside the window.  It states "16" there now.

It has a pin on the back side that can be closed or opened very carefully.

Peninsular Metal Products was the business owned by Yogacharya J. Oliver Black, a direct disciple of Paramahansa Yogananda.  In 1920, Oliver Black and his wife Ethel moved to Detroit, Michigan, where they settled. That happened to be the exact year that Yogananda arrived on the shores of the USA. J. Oliver Black founded his own business, Peninsular Metal Products, selling automobile parts. He started on a very small scale, in his garage, with an investment of only $500.00. Oliver Black began with very little, but he became a self-made millionaire. His company in the end made up to a $35 million a year. (from yogacharyaoliver.com)
