1966 Press Photo Crane Overturns as Unloading Steel From Ship "Susane" at Port
This is an original press photo. Crushing The Gangway to the crew's quarters of the ship Susane, this crane overturned Tuesday night while unloading steel from the vessel's hold. The crane operator received cuts on both hands and was sent to Baptist Hospital. A small fire on the crane was quickly extinguished. The ship's crew had to build a make-shift wooden ladder to get to their quarters. A huge "portable" crane turned over early Tuesday night while unloading a cargo of steel from the ship "Susane" at Public Commodities Warehouse at the head of Napoleon Avenue. Photo measures 8 x 10.25inches. Photo is dated 09-07-1966.
