This antique black silk multicolor embroidered flowers Manton de Manila piano shawl dates from the late 19th century. It is made of a black silk fabric background, with bright vibrant multicolored silk raised padded satin stitch hand embroidery work of flowers, spiraling vine leaves and large pink ombre roses in each of the four corners. There is a heavy hand knotted macrame black silk fringe trim surrounding the shawl measuring 20 inches long. The shawls embroidered fabric square has rounded corners, measures 64 by 64 inches and is quite heavy weighing 3 pounds 12 ounces. This gorgeous quality made Manton de Manila style Spanish Flamenco shawl was made in Canton China for trade and export. It is in excellent condition.
