It's not rechargeable and takes AA batteries, which I reckon is better than the rechargeable ones because if the battery goes flat with the rechargeable ones, it's out of commission until it's recharged. This one, simply put a fresh set of AA single use batteries or AA rechargeable and you're back to work in seconds
