Description

Here is a nice late 17th century circa 1690 in date naval officer's wooden cased pocket compass in good original working condition. The surface has a nice patina from age and the compass is in good working condition. The original glass lens is in good condition with a few small bubbles. In total measuring 3.5 inches wide. Both brass catches are present and open and close nicely which can also be seen in the photos. Originally from Leith docks, Edinburgh, Scotland from a maritime collection.
