EMMA BRIDGEWATER - "I LOVE SWEETPEAS" LITHOGRAPH 4 CUP TEAPOT - ONE-OFF COMMISSION

Back in the time when collectors could commission pieces, this teapot was arranged for me by Jamie Shawcross and decorated by head lithographer Nigel Green.  I didn't ask for it to be made, it was kind of suggested as a gesture since I had spent a large sum of money on 2 special items, and this was made for me as a special "thank you".  I obviously still paid for it!

EB stopped taking commissions when too many specially ordered pieces started to appear at inflated prices on eBay.

Decorated in the "I Love Sweetpeas" lithograph from original paintings by Matthew Rice, the design never properly went into full production but was used on a few, various sample pieces.

There are a few other 4 cup teapots featuring the pattern in existence, but these did not have an all-over coverage of the sweetpeas, and as on this teapot the transfers were individually hand-positioned by Nigel, it is truly a one-off, unique piece.

I love this teapot with all my heart - particularly the sentiment for its production/existence, but I simply have to prune my pottery!

I'm having to sell some of my rarer pieces as we've bought a smaller home and we just can't house all my various collections.

Please study and zoom in to all of the photos shown as these form part of the description and there are some "breaks" in the lithograph transfers.  There are no CCC's, but there are a couple of pinpricks.

Since I am so reluctant to part with this piece, I have set it at the price I am OK parting with it for.  I will not be accepting any offers at this time, and it can remain in my collection until - or if it sells for the asking price.

Happy to answer any questions before bidding, and thanks for looking!
