1960 Press Photo Azalea shrubs are a highlight of the New Orleans Floral Trail.
This is an original press photo. Five-foot high Azalea shrubs loaded with shell pink blooms at the foot of Lee's monument at Lee Circle are a highlight of the New Orleans Floral Trail. Inspecting the blooms are Charles H. Gillen, Floral Trail president, and Felix Seeger, superintendent of the Parkway and Park Commission. Purple flowering azaleas form a square floral border around the monument. The blooms are at their peak for the year at this time. Photo measures 10 x 8.25 inches. Photo is dated 03-26-1960.
