Rare Unfinished Medieval Bronze Casket Key Dates 13th-14th Century PAS Recorded.

Unfinished (unfettled) Medieval copper alloy rotary key for a casket with a lozengiform bow, a collar, a simple bit with one rectangular cleft and a hollow-ended shank. A flaw remains on the bow, flashes run down the oval-sectioned shank and the cleft is blocked by a film of metal. Length 33.8mm. Bow width 11.5mm. Bit 11.4  x 9.7 x 1.8mm. Dates 13th - 14th century. PAS number NMS-C8E5BD.
