This is a vintage Japanese pottery tea ceremony Mizusashi (Fresh water container) of Oribe ware, which was made by one of the greatest modern potters, the 4th Sakusuke Kato (1909-) about 70-80 years ago.
He is a great potter, who was designated as a Human Intangible Cultural Treasure of Aichi prefecture. The lid is made of natural wood, and coated with black lacquer.
The signature of the potter is carved on the bottom. The original wooden storage box with the signature of the potter is also included.
