This is a vintage Japanese incense case (Kogo), which is made of real natural seashells. Natutal seashell is covered with pure gold leaf.

This was made by a famous artisan, Masaharu Arai (1924-) about 40-50 years ago.

The original wooden box with the signature of the artisan is also included.
