Unlike many of the "so-called" first editions being advertised on eBay, it has all the appropriate features to indicate that it is a true first edition.........

1. The price of 3/6 on the dustjacket. The price increased to 4/6 at book 15.

2. Publishers name as Sampson Low. 25 Gilbert St. London and C.A. Publications.  Books 7 to 24 had different combinations of Sampson Low partnered with other publishers.

3. No date of publication - none of the original 1st editions were dated before 1958 (book 16). Many later editions showed the copyright date of the original books, which has clearly misled many sellers.

4. No SBN number as these were not introduced until 1967.  ISBN numbers were not introduced until 1970s.

5.  No list of titles on the d/j flap. It wasn't until book 12 that the list of titles was published on the d/j.  Clearly any book which lists all 24 titles must have been published after 1964, when that title was published.

6. The older style Noddy figure on the spine. The figure on later editions became more modern looking.

Many books were published with a Black Border around the title of the book on the front cover. These were published in 1980s, despite some showing the original copyright date.

You will see from the photos that the D/J is in good condition, it is crucial for identification purposes as it contains much of the identifying information. However note it has been price clipped!

There is no inscription in the "Book Belongs To" box and the book is clean and unmarked throughout.

I am listing my complete set of 24 Noddy first editions and am happy to combine postage for multiple purchases.
