Yakusugi (Japanese cedar wood) or cryptomeria wood comes from Yakushima Island which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The 1970s Buddhist Cryptomeria wood mask has small marks, nicks, scuffs, wear, dust, etc.  Please refer to the photos.

Japanese Yakushima Yakusugi or Japanese Yakushima Cryptomeria is world renowned for its dark grain lines.

The Japanese hand carved Buddhist Gakko Bosatsu mask is about 28cm (11") long and 15cm (5 7/8") wide.
