  • Here is a beautiful pair of early dinner plates
  • Hard paste porcelain from the second half of the 18th century
  • Hand painted blue and red flowers on green blooming branches
  • Slightly scalloped edge
  • Incised cross marking for Bristol Porcelain, and hand painted number 3
  • Bristol, South England, circa 1770-1781
  • After this period the production was taken over by the Worcester Porcelain Company
  • Bristol porcelain works are well known for producing wares in a Neo-classical taste rather than the fashionable at the time Baroque and Rococo
  • The flowers were the favorite decoration of Richard Champion, who took over the firm in 1774
