Offered here is
scarce WW1, original, 1915 1st Armoured Motor Battery Brass Cap Badge.
The
antique badge with a laurel wreath with the tips joined by an Imperial (King's)
crown, an Armoured Car in the middle. Across the bottom of the wreath there is
a scroll bearing “1st ARMOURED MOTOR BATTERY”.
A
pair of lugs to reverse side.
Condition: The
badge is in good condition for its age, it has been used, with original lugs
behind which are intact, please see both Photos.
WW1 1st Armoured
Motor Batteries were deployed with units of the Machine Gun Corps, they were
raised in 1915 and served in mainly East Africa, Trans-Jordan, Palestine and
Mesopotamia. Later after the Great War in they took part in the Iraqi Revolt.
This a very scarce
original brass badge, not a modern copy.
