This is a 10 $20 Proof Canadian silver coin set made specially for the 1988 Winter Olympics in Calgary Canada. Two of the coins are dated 1985, four are dated 1986 and four others are dated 1987. Each coin has an excellent engraving of different events at the Olympics, including Downhill Skiing, Speed Skating, Hockey, Biathlon, Cross-country skiing, Free-style skiing, Figure Skating, Curling, Ski-jumping, and Bobsleigh. The reverse of all the coins is an effigy of Her Majesty the Queen, Elizabeth II.


Each coin has been kept in a protective plastic container, which has not been opened since the original purchase and all coins are in pristine condition. The coins contain one troy ounce of silver. The composition of each coin is 92.5% silver and 7.5% copper. Le The edge of each coin has lettering “XV Olympic Winter Games”


The green velvet case is in fair condition. It does show wear on all the corners and one of the closing latches is missing a part.


The collection comes with a certificate of authenticity, signed by the President of the Royal Canadian mint.
