Thanks to the kindness of a fellow eBayer and Polaroid enthusiast, I was educated today about this camera. The one step sonar feature allows the camera to autofocus. I was able to test this feature today, and it works. I am unable to upload the video, but it does automatically adjust My tests shots in the attached photos were taken in manual mode, and I had not properly attempted to focus. I am out of film, so I cannot try again. The empty film cartridge does allow the camera to power up and auti focus. It will remain with the camera. Also included is a 2-sided, 10 count flash, pictured, which has 6 good flashes remaining.

The SX-70 Sonar features a 116mm f/8 glass lens with a four element design and Sonar autofocus for quick, intuitive operation. Manual focus override is also possible, for focusing down to 10.4". An automatic variable shutter speed and aperture system links the f/8 to f/90 aperture range with a shutter speed range of 1/180 sec to more than 5 sec for accurate results.
