DESCRIPTION : Bound in mottled leather, expertly rebacked using original backstrip, gilt in compartments, morocco spine label. 40 full-page and 8 further illustrations in the text. Originally published in French in 1650, the plates were re-engraved for this edition. An important work, prohibitally expensive when published (4 pages about this in Harris).
