Western Stoneware Monmouth Pottery Yellow Duck or Goose Running Planter

This duck (planter) appears to be running, as if to take flight, with neck extended - beak open.

Produced by Monmouth - Western Stoneware Pottery circa the 1940s.

8 inches in length. 5 & 1/4 inches in width. 5 inches tall.

Weight: 1 pound 6 ounces.

NOTE: Bottom is marked. Mark is obscured by heavy glaze - hard to read, but unmistakeably the U.S.A. 

in an indented rectangle is the mark of Western Stoneware.

There is a fine glaze crazing throughout, which is noticeable only on close inspection.

NO chips, no crack - no dents or dings. No loss of color. Very nice piece in very nice original condition.
