ASI Aquarium Silicone Sealant has been designed to aid in the fabrication of salt-water and fresh-water aquariums. This high modulus component RTV Silicone Sealant forms a strong cohesive bond to glass, without the need of primers. The bond is unaffected by continuous immersion in water and is non-toxic to fish once fully cured. ASI Aquarium Silicone Sealant is designed to remain in place, and can be applied to vertical surfaces without running, flowing, or sagging.
Because ASI Aquarium Silicone Sealant is a 100% silicone sealant, it has excellent resistance to weathering including ozone, ultra-violet radiation, and airborne chemicals.
ASI Aquarium Silicone Sealant can be applied to surface temperatures form -18 C to +50 C (0 F to +120 F) and after curing, withstands constant operating temperatures from -57 C to +233 C (-70 F to 450 F).

Material Preparation:
Clean glass of all dust and debris, including oil and dirt. These substances could negatively impact the bonding of sealant to glass. It is recommended to use a compatible cleaner. Extremely hot water is acceptable. DO NOT USE SOAP WATER SOLUTION, which could leave residue resulting in bonding failure
Thoroughly and immediately dry glass with a clean, lint-free cloth. Blow drying is acceptable
Assembly:
For assembling aquarium parts, or building a custom made aquarium
Apply smooth, even layer to edge surface of glass
Assemble glass components using fixture or jig by pressing edge surface against non-edge surface, allowing sealant to flow evenly between joined surfaces. Adjust fixture or jig to apply proper and constant pressure
Select appropriate bead size for aquarium
Apply sealant directly to center of joint formed by the sections of glass
Tool sealant immediately after application
Remove excess sealant before allowing to cure by wiping with clean cloth and a suitable solvent. Cured sealant can be trimmed using a sharp blade
Allow sealant to cure at least 7-10 days before adding water and fish
Repair Application:
ASI Aquarium Silicone Sealant can be used to repair old or damaged aquariums
Remove old, damaged sealant
Clean area to be repaired by following the Material Preparation steps above
Apply sealant by following Assembly steps above
After curing, fill aquarium with water, allowing to sit several days in order to check for possible leaks
If no leaks are detected, follow water treatment and livestock acclimation processes as normal
