Swiss jeweler Vacheron et Constantin, is best known for its very high-end watches but they also produce jewelry for men such as cufflinks, studs, wristbands and belt buckles.

Here is one of their designs from the 1950's a pair of cufflinks shaped like stirrups, made in 18 carat gold with a sculpted motif on the outside. The clasp in each link is operated open and closed by a spring hidden in the flat part of each stirrup (photos 7 to 11)). The total gold weight of the pair is about 11 grams, just over 1/3 ounce.

Each piece is hallmarked. The marks are difficult to photograph in a large size (it alters the colors and the depth on the photos) but they are well visible in photos 8 to 12.. The cufflinks are in their original grey suedine box (photos 1 and 6) inscribed inside "Vacheron et Constantin Genève". The box itself is frayed with usage marks but the cufflinks are in superb condition.
