Vintage Postcard of Good Jokes from Punch Magazine, entitled Evidence of an Eye-Witness - a gentleman's shared view on 'Love at first sight'...! 

Guest: "Why do you believe in second sight, major?"
Major Darby (in an impressive whisper): "Because I fell in love at first sight!"

Artist: Charles Edward Brock (1870-1938), an English painter, line artist and illustrator. Brock received his first book commission in 1890, illustrating for the works of Jonathan Swift, William Thackeray, Jane Austen, Charles Dickens, George Eliot. He was famed also for his golf paintings, the Bunker, the Drive and the Putt. From 1901 to 1910, in excess of 100 of his illustrations appeared in Punch, mainly in the first half of the decade.

Posted from Kings Lynn, to Guernsey  FE 8 06 with a King Edward VII 1/2d green stamp with a fine squared circle cancel, combining the circular postmark with the corner bars/arcs to ensure a better cancel.
