For sale is a Japanese late Edo Era (1603-1868) Buddhist Sho Kannon Bosatsu Buddha statue and shrine set in good condition.
The handcrafted lacquered gold gilt wood and bronze zushi shrine is about 59cm (23 1/5") high and 25cm (9 13/16") long.
The hand carved hand painted lacquered gold gilt wood statue is about 52cm (20 7/16") high and 17cm (6 11/16") long.
The Sho Kannon is the Bosatsu or Buddha of mercy and compassion.  The total weight of the set is about 4370 grams.
One or more parts of the set have nicks, marks, scuffs, repairs (backboard), lacquer flaking, gold & paint wear, dust, etc.
Everything will be professionally packed, but the backboard and other delicate parts may get damaged during delivery.
