Rare, original vintage George Way Aristocrat 7"x15" snare drum, Elkhart IN, ca 1960. Complete with Way's pioneering turret lugs, The body has a fair amounbt of "rash" probably from decades of  being moved wiithout a case. This very rare snare is in the unisual larger 15 inch diameter, giving it a presence and resonance that commands attention.

Traiined by none other than George Stone, George Way worked for the Ludwigs and for Leedy before setting up his own shop in Elkhart in the late 1950s which was in business for only a few years before being absoirbed by Camco. Along the way, George Way invented the turret lug for his Aristocrat snares whichbecame the signature lug of DW (and the new Canada-based George Way Drums) that continues to this day. A chance to own a piece of American snare history.
