Mrs. Samantha Rorer Button, 98-year-old Civil mother of West McHenry, Illinois, who is still an "Uncle Sam's" pension list although the war terminated 65 years ago. Mrs. Button was 33 when her son Clinton Rorer, ... then sixteen, enlisted in ... of the famous old Regiment of Illinois. With the approach of Decoration Day Mrs. Button sits on her porch at McHenry and dreams of these days of strife which terminated more than 65 years ago. Photo measures 8 x 10 inches. Photo Is dated 1929.
