Nice pre-owned copy of this classic firearms text on the Sharps rifle. The Sharps Rifle: Its History, Development, and Operation by Winston O. Smith. This FIRST EDITION was published in 1943 by William Morrow & Company. The book features black and white plates and illustrations of the rifle, various parts, cartridges, etc. No dust jacket.

The orangish all-cloth covered boards are in good, sturdy shape. Some soiling to the front and back. Bumping and wear to the corners and head and tail of the spine. Edge wear. The spine is straight and the binding is tight.

Browning on the paste-downs and end-papers. Previous owner's mark on the front end paper. There is a previous price marked in pencil here as well. Small oil stain bottom left corner that is present on pages up until the prologue. 

Internally, the pages have darkened with age but are in fine shape, with no marks, creases, or tears. Please see all pictures.
