Truly fabulous vintage original from Mollie Parnis (1902-1992, see below for details).  No fabric or size tags, likely custom, seems to fit like a small, please see measurements below and consider your desired fit.  My best guess on the fabric would be a wool/rayon blend crepe, the lining either silk or rayon.  Classic black, with off-center full-length seams that become knife pleats at an empire waist level tie.  Body is fully lined in a black satin with maroon undertones.  Hem finished with lace.  Long back zipper.  Small slits at cuffs.  Shoulder pads, a couple anchor stitches on one missing.   Based on the label, research puts this dress in the 1970s.  Truly a rare find very good vintage condition (one small hole in lining near the label, see photo #4).  Best to review all 21 photos to fully appreciate.

Mollie Parnis began designing in the 1920s, by the 40s was designing under her own name.  Early main client was Mamie Eisenhower, going on to dress other first ladies including Lady Bird Johnson, Pat Nixon, Betty Ford and Rosalyn Carter, as well as many celebrities.  This dress likely originally sold for over $2,000.00.
