A fine antique Kyoto style Meiji Period Japanese cloisonne vase.

In silver and enamel. 

With gold wire sparrows, reeds, and plant decoration against a deep blue ground and geometric designs to the foot and neck.

With a silver rim and foot rim and a blue enamel base.

In the style of Namikawa Yasuyuki. 

Yasuyuki was a world-renowned Japanese cloisonne artist primarily active in the the late 19th/early 20th century. Known for his intricately detailed work and credited as the forefather of the Kyoto or 'naturalistic' school, Yasuyuki pioneered the transparent black glaze, which led to the development of more styles of transparent glaze.

Marked 'Silver' to the footrim.

Overall Condition:
They are in overall as-is, as-pictured, used estate condition.

Condition Details:
With a noticeable chip and bruises to the body, hairline fractures in the blue, and two small chips near the reeds. Otherwise, there are some fine & light surface scratches and other signs of expected light wear consistent with age.

Attributed to Namikawa Yasuyuki/in the Kyoto style.

Marks:
Marked Silver to the foot rim.
