Mammillaria Magnifica. Endemic to Mexico, where the species is distributed in the states of Morelos and Puebla.
Ours are bred in Mallorca.
They are clusters forming groups of tall columns, studded with yellow-brown, hooked central spines.
It is an easy growing species, but the plant will reward itself with a ring of fine pink-purple flowers that encircle the crown of the plant.
Various forms are known, some with golden spines, some with red to black spines.
The large stem grows towards the sun and changes direction within a few weeks if the plant is turned.
