First off, we’re not experts on films and film collecting. Our expertise lies in very old Operatic 78rpm records. We’re pretty good and scrupulously honest in “grading” them, but Films are a bit of a mystery to us.

Please tell us if we have blundered or got our gradings wrong.

Here's NINE reels of vintage 9.5mm movie film, silent, some in boxes and some not.

The 9 REELS contain TWENTY NINE shorter films.

You'll get ALL NINE REELS in a large-ish box, with an extra S*U*R*P*R*I*S*E if we like the cut of your jib.

Some reels consist of several short Pathé films one after the other, and some are just single films. Most have leaders and tails, but a few don't.

Several of these films, produced over 90 years ago, have very non-PC themes.

Here's what you'll get:

1.

one 6.5” spool containing:

a: Fireman Mickey (Mickey Mouse saves Minnie from burning building) Plays OK

b: Health Is Wealth (Popeye in the gym) some sprocket damage. Plays OK

c: April Fool (Live Action Comedy) Short but plays OK

d: Pianola (Mickey Mouse) Plays OK

e: Silly Symphony. “In Zulu Land” Historical artefact! Astonishingly non-PC animated “African” comedy. Show this at a party and the wokerati will burn you alive. It's a very interesting look at what was thought of as “acceptable”, ninety years ago. Not perfect condition. There’s some torn sprockets and we “lost the loop” a couple of times towards the very end.

2.

one 6.5” spool containing “CoronationDay” The coronation of Queen Elizabeth II on 2 June 1953.

With long leader. Plays well, looks OK to us. NO TAIL on end.

3.

one 6.5” spool with a short leader containing:

a: Redskin Raiders No plot. Live action Cowboys and Indians shooting at one another.

b: A. B. Ham Live Action on-board-ship comedy. (visible continual scratch).

c: Mickey’s Nightmare Mickey Mouse and baby mice. Long version. “claw” marks in some places

4. one 6.5” spool containing

a: Paws For Breath live action comedy with Billy Bevan and some circus lions.

b: From Fat To Thin live action & old cars.

c: All Change Live action comedy with Harry Langdon

d: Thwarted Thieves Western with no plot, as far as we can tell.

e: Fort Robinson Crusoe Mickey Mouse. With a very non-PC Man Friday.

5.

one 6.5” spool containing

Easy Street with Charlie Chaplin. Good clean copy with leader and tail.

This might be the Full length version.

6.

one 6.5” spool containing

a: Easter Island travelogue.

b: Pagodas In Burma monkeys and turtles.

c: Ruby Mining In Burma

d: Village Life In Burma. Privately produced for somebody’s lecture tour?

There are splices when title cards appear, and between some scenes.

ABRUPT END and no tail.

7:

h: Pianola Mickey Mouse & some cheese.

8.

one 6.5” spool containing

Hearts Of Oak documentary about WW1 BATTLESHIPS etc with much live footage, some bewildering maps and a few hilarious “model shots”. Early aircraft and torpedoes etc. Vertical scratches. Some very jingo-istic title cards. Plays OK

9.

one 6.5” spool containing

Toni A full length comedy starring Jack Buchanan. Plays OK with leader and tail

We have run ALL these films on a Paillard projector which we will be selling at a later date. A few need leaders and there's some iffy splices, which actually ran through OK.

They’re all still very enjoyable.

We'll also put a S*U*R*P*R*I*S*E in the box for you, if we think you’ve got a lucky face.

Well, there we are then. Nine reels described as well as we know how, being sold for a good cause.

Sorry! No Buyer Collect and we do NOT post anything to non-UK buyers.

And NO OVERSEAS bidders using UK addresses please.
