Offering a well used and abused WWII "CATTARAUGUS 225Q" fighting knife. These knives were made for quartermaster/field use w/a heavy, thick blade for prying open crates and a checkered pommel for hammering. They were popular w/all servicemen and widely used. It's just under 10 3/8" long w/the blade just over 5 3/4". It has heavy sharpening/grinder marks and wear/use. The finish is gone. The guard and leather grip are a bit loose. The pommel has been modified at the top. It comes in the original leather sheath, also well worn and personalized as shown though it still holds the blade nicely. A good knife for display or for a project.
