A superb oil on panel by the important Norwich painter Samuel David Colkett. The work is on panel and depicts a travller and his dog in a moonlit landscape by the coast. The work has excellent provenance from the specialist Norwich School dealer - Mandells. It has its original artists label verso. A beautiful example.

Samuel Colkett exhibited in London at the Royal Academy and the British Institution at the beginning of the 19th century. He was associated with the group of painters known as the Norwich School who, painting in a Realist and Romantic style, rediscovered nature.
