Compatibility and flexibility: Compatible with both I2C bus and System Management Bus (SMBus), this I2C module development board supports low-level effective reset input, hot-plug capability, low standby current, glitch-free power-up, and voltage level shifting between 1.8V, 2.5V, 3.3V, and 5V buses.
4. Programmable control registers: With programmable control registers, you have the flexibility to select any individual SCn/SDn channel or channel combination. In case of timeout or improper operation, the TCA9548A can be easily reset by setting the /RESET input to a low-level signal with IIC multiplexer breakout board. Similarly, power-up reset deselects all channels and initializes the I2C/SMBus state machine. Reset and initialization can be achieved by setting the /RESET high without the need to power off the device.
5. Voltage level control and protection: The switch has conducting gate pins, allowing the VCC pin to limit the maximum high voltage passing through the TCA9548A. 8 channel expansion board feature enables the usage of differet bus voltages for each channel. For example, 1.8V, 2.5V, or 3.3V components can communicate with 5V components without the need for additional protection. Each channel can be pulled up to the desired voltage level using external pull-up resistors. All I/O pins are rated for 5V voltage, ensuring reliable performance.
