I happened across this great early digital rangefinder camera, the Epson R-D1s. If you’re reading this you probably know more about this than me, but from what little research I did, I learned that this camera actually beat the Leica M8 to the market as the first digital rangefinder. It is only 6 mp or so but takes very nice pics. I bought two new batteries and a charger and a new 2 gb sd card, as that’s the max it will take. It takes a Leica M mount. I used a 50mm Leica Summicron on it and it focused nicely and took nice photos. It seems to work well. I used an online copy of the manual and start guide to figure it out and got to play with it a little. Pretty easy to use actually. You’ve got to love the retro dials.

I’ve never handled one of these before but it feels nice in the hand. It’s solid like my Leica M11, not as heavy as my SL2. Certainly well built. It’s really in nice condition. There are a few minor cosmetic issues. There is an area right above the lens release button where the leatherette is lifting a bit, please see the detailed photos. There is some minor areas of wear otherwise, I’ve taken lots of detailed photos. Please have a look at the other camera items I’ve put up today, clearing a little room.

You will receive the camera, 2 batteries, a double charger, a cord, NO CHARGING BRICK it takes a usb b one, and a 2GB sd card.
