DESCRIPTION

A first edition copy of Christopher Isherwood's astute novel. 

Complete with original, clipped dust wrapper with price still visible: 16s net in U.K. only.

Set in Southern California during the 1960s, the novel narrates a day in the life of George, a middle-aged Englishman and a professor at an LA university. The story is the basis for the 2009 Oscar-nominated film starring Colin Firth and Julianne Moore.

Christopher Isherwood was a Anglo-American writer, whose works include 'Goodbye to Berlin' and 'Christopher and His Kind'. The latter a memoir which would make him a central figure of the Gay Liberation movement.


CONDITION

In publisher's original grey cloth binding and original clipped dust wrapper. Externally, the cloth is in lovely condition. Internally, firmly bound with bright and clean pages. The dust wrapper has been clipped, but price is still visible. Minor rubbing to top-right front board and head of spine. Spine is ever-so-slightly sunned.
