wasnt captioned around the Battle of Romani period 1916
there is a long piece on wikipedia about the Battle of Romani which the Allies won and prevented the Turkish Army from taking control of the Suez canal in 1916 and a map showing Hill 40 to be near Kantara , There are several photos to list of the Battle and Hill 40 also the Military train which took the Soldiers to the fighting
from an album of WW1 photographs some had brief captions in the album , but some when soaked out have very detailed captions to the back , I think Albums creator was with an Orderly Sargent in the Highland Light infantry , Photos cover Early WW1 in France up to now one of Galipolli a lot of Palestine / Egypt campaigns and back in France
damp affected ,some faded ,most quite clean
