There is a patent number 2108905 stamped on both metal slide pieces, which is unusual. The year 1924 and 1935 comes up on this patent number. It appears that the piece had some type of lacquer applied to it, because the metal clasps have traces of the color on them. We are not certain if this is Bakelite or some other material. This rare piece could be used as a belt or even a hat band.
