Eulychnia Castanea cv. Varispiralis spiral form hort. This strange plant is known in cultivation under many different names.
It is a variable cultivar in which we can distinguish at least four basic growth forms: This species does not cause any problems in cultivation and will do well in a sunny spot on the windowsill or in the hobby greenhouse.
These plants tolerate sun and heat, but not long periods of frost.
The crested form is more sensitive to frost and should not be stored below -0°c.
Grow them in rich, porous sandy soil and allow their soil to dry out between waterings.
If potted, repot in spring when their roots become cramped.
Generally they need to be repotted every other year to provide fresh soil.
However, this does not necessarily mean they need larger containers.
Fill about a quarter of the pot with broken pots, gravel, etc. to promote good drainage.
After repotting, do not water for a week or more. It is a nice specimen to supplement the collection
