Here we have a super looking Antique Large Arts and Crafts   Oval Brass  Tray or Plate for you,this has been Hand Made and features an attractive Hand Hammered Border Design ,the middle is adorned with the Heraldic Coat of Arms for Edinburgh University, Scotland ,flanked on both sides by an elaborate Scroll Design,and below is  the Latin wording Labor Et Scientia (  ,Knowledge and Hard Labor ) there are no makers marks but could,have been made by a Student who was at the University or made for the University by one of the local Arts and Crafts firms ,condition is very good no bends or dings,the underside has a lovely Chestnut Brown Patina with age so probably dates around the late 1800s ,,this measures 15 3/4 inches or 40cms in length and 29.5cms or just over 11.5 inches in width.
