This is an antique circa 1920s  figural desk top thermometer by Therm-o-dial laboratories. It depicts a Native American man sitting and smoking a peace pipe. It is approx 6" tall. It seems to be working although Im not sure how accurate it is. It is in excellent vintage condition!
