Description:


One of only two hundred copies from 'The Chiswick Shakespeare', printed on Japanese Vellum, with limitation statement to verso of half-title, although this copy is unnumbered. Bound in cream cloth over thin card boards, with elaborate gilt decoration and lettering to upper board. Vellum spine with further gilt decoration and lettering. Externally sound, lightly marked and discoloured with just a little wear to extremities. Text-block remain sound and firm, pages a little age-toned with one or two minor blemishes, else clean and tidy. Glossary and notes at end, followed by four pages of 'Press Notices of the Chiswick Shakespeare'. Printed at the Chiswick Press by Charles Whittingham & Co.
