Description
This golden brown peaked cap early Crest cartouche model is in mint restored condition. There are no defects. Restoration includes disassembly, cleaning, replacement the sac, smoothing and adjusting the nib, filling the pen with ink (not just dipping), and producing multiple writing samples over 2 days (like the ones in the photos).
This Crest Model
This first year Crest was introduced by Sheaffer in 1937 and sold for $13.75. It is the larger of two versions, the other referred to now as a ladies' model. Most of these first year Crests had the usual chased line pattern, but for those who might want to add an engraving Sheaffer made a few with the cartouche pattern on the back of the cap. I have seen just a few of these.
All restorations include
