For UK buyers, my postage charge is based on £3.69, the actual cost at the Post Office counter, then 51p to cover a new Jiffy padded envelope, card stiffeners, comic bag and the percentage of the postage taken by Ebay.

Combined postage - For buyers in the UK. I only need to charge you p&p for the first magazine. Any extra purchases will be sent at no additional cost - you only pay for that first magazine.

For overseas buyers, I aim to charge just the basics; the postage cost, the envelope and packaging cost, plus Ebay's surcharge, nothing more. To save money, please consider International Economy (surface mail). It's slower, but in some cases, only about half the cost of Airmail (International Standard).

Here is the Radio Times for 20-26 March 1949. This is the Wales (radio only, no tv) edition, sold originally for twopence (2d).

The cover features two of the year's sporting highlights, the Grand National from Aintree and the Boat Race. Inside, renowned commentators John Snagge and Raymond Glendenning preview their own events.

Other features inside include:

  • a full page, written by regular compere Sam Heppner, on Housewive's Choice
  • a short preview of a concert where leading Light Music composer Eric Coates will conduct his own works
  • two thirds of a page on The Scillies, their flowers and their people
  • Both Sides of the Microphone includes a short piece on a visit to the entrance of the pilot tunnel for a Channel Tunnel

The magazine covers full listings for BBC radio broadcasts, however there were no tv broadcasts to this part of the country at this time.

The magazine is on the whole in good condition, clean and flat, with no clippings or annotations. However, there's a thin vertical 'slice' through the middle of the front cover (as if cut, rather than torn?). Please see the pictures.

The magazine will be posted in a new Jiffy Mailmiser/Airkraft padded envelope with card stiffeners.
