He is famous for his many paintings depicting monkeys. It is unknown whether he was born in Nagasaki, Hyogo or Osaka, but he lived in Osaka for most of his life. He established his own painting style, being influenced by Kano-school painters and Maruyama Okyo (1733-1795) and became the founder of Mori school. *We indicate the artist's name based on a signature and seal and also the style for convenience, but please understand that it is not a thing to guarantee an original or an imitation (reproduction).
