An original World War Two letter including the cover that was written by Lieutenant Eugene Valic who was in the 255th Infantry. It is dated 1945.  In one area it looks like he says,.........Almost every house flies a white bed sheet............find it amusing to listen to people tell their stories. According to them they're no Nasis and they never killed.....or enslaved anybody...........When U.S. military authorities confronted these.......German civilians with the evidence of thousands of corpses stacked like cord wood............These s.o.b's just shrugged their beefy shoulders and disclaimed any responsibility for the systematic muder and cremation of these innocent people saying they didn't know what was going on.............No wonder German civilians are in mortal fear of U.S. troops. They hide when they see us coming........Thousands of freed slave-labrorers, men women and children, from Russiaa, Poland, France, Italy, Yougoslavia..........trudge along the roads.......their few belongings...........I've talked with some of the slaves and have watched what was going on........Some of the Russiann and Polish women and girls told me they were the property of any German male who claimed them for the night.............The scenes I see here every day makes me think of the Roman Caesars and their legions of captive slaves. The emancipation of millions of slaves has begun and Europe and the world will be freed from the scourge of mankind the monster Hitler.......................................           The cover has the send to address of  Niagara Falls New York.
