This is an amazing 1950s vintage swimsuit by LEE! It's in super clean, unworn condition! It's a classic 50s rockabilly bathing suit with a skirted romper shape, hidden elastic leg openings, princess seams, self fabric shoulder straps that criss-cross and button in back, and attached front ties to make a bow.

The upper back is shirred and elasticized for a good fit. The print is an abstract atomic splash floral in moss green, turquoise and white. The suit has a partial white cotton lining with firm white lace bra cups sewn in and a white cotton crotch panel. It closes with a 14" long green metal front zipper. The strap lengths are not adjustable, the buttons are fixed on the straps and the loops are on the body of the suit, but you could add buttons or move their position, if you desire. Each strap has an extra 2" to lengthen in this way, if needed.

It's in excellent clean condition, no flaws or wear noted. The crotch lining is bright and clean, the bra cups are supple but firm, not crunchy, the zipper works great, the shirring and elastic are nice and stretchy, and we find no soiling, stains, tears or ANY signs of use!

The label says "Lee, Swimplay Suits, Size 16/38, 50% Rayon, 50% Cotton," and there's a red and white ILGWU Union label. For care, we recommend hand washing separately and line drying, please do NOT machine wash or dry. It's NOT a modern size "16" and fits best as a Women's Small, possibly a Small-Medium, based on the measurements:

Chest - fits 32 to 36 inches,
Waist - 30 inches,
Hips - 40 inches,
Leg Openings - 12 inches, up to 26 inches around when stretched,
Length - 33 inches.

Our model is 5'8" tall and her measurements are 34-27-39. She usually wears a Women's Small or Medium.
