I have put about five or six rolls of film through this camera and can say that everything with the camera body and lens works as it should. I have not used the MD-4 motor drive to test for function but the battery compartment is clean. I have not used a flash with the included AS-4 adapter but it appears to be in excellent condition. The battery compartment of the camera is nice and clean and the LR44 batteries are fairly fresh (will be removed and bagged separately for shipping).
The motor drive coupling cover is present as shown. The flash sync terminal cover is present as shown. This camera has a serial number 176xxxx and a code 16VM under the film door hinge which may help determine a date of manufacture. I believe that the first owner purchased the camera sometime around the late 1980s, possibly very early 1990s. I am only the second owner of this camera. The last four photos were taken with this camera and lens on Kodak Portra 400 which was processed by Dwayne's Photo. They are the lab scans I got back from Dwayne's.
Why buy from me? First of all, if you are in the US, shipping will be cheaper and faster because that's where I am located. There is less chance of something going wrong in shipping. Second, this camera comes with extras that most others on eBay do not. I have tested the camera and shown that it works with photos taken with this camera and lens and a video showing the shutter firing. Lastly, while I do hope you like the camera and choose to keep it, I do offer returns within 14 days as soon as I receive the camera back to me packaged at least as well as I originally packed it sending it to you and in the condition shown in the photos or as it arrived to you.
Shipping: The camera will be well protected in a sturdy box during shipping. I have been known to build custom cardboard and / or foam bracing inside the box if necessary to keep everything in place during shipping. The camera will be shipped with either USPS Priority Mail or USPS Ground Advantage which you will have the option of setting during checkout. I may consider UPS or Fedex economy shipping options as well if the eBay shipping discount on my end allows for it. If so, you won't be charged any extra but this decision is up to me. I'd assume it will be USPS Priority or USPS Ground Advantage, whichever you select at checkout.
*NOTE: Condition is estimated by me to be excellent. There is no widely accepted system for grading the condition of a camera as I'm sure you know. If I could equate the condition of this camera with ratings from popular camera stores they would be as follows on this camera body. I'd give it an Excellent Plus rating on KEH's scale, 9 on B&H's scale, E on Adorama's scale. Again, this is my opinion. The photos will tell you much more. I would never rate a camera as "Mint" and I would not advise paying a high premium for a camera advertised as such. I'd be wary of any camera on eBay being sold as "Mint" at an exorbitant price. Anyone can repackage a camera that might have actually been used but without obvious signs of said usage and call it "Mint". Besides that, lubricants harden and dry up over time so - again this is just my opinion - I'd recommend buying a camera that has been used but well cared for over one that is simply listed as "Mint".
