I believe this pocket watch is a 12 size, as the movement is about 1 3/4 in in diameter. The beautiful Elgin national watch company wrist pocket watch, with the serial number 14328552 on the movement, along with safety pinion and Elgin national watch company, usa, has a beautiful white dial with a second hand above the six, and with Roman numerals and red Arabic numerals around the very border. The beautiful white dial pocket watch has black hands. The movement is very clean however it does not want to run, I would venture it needs a good cleaning, I do not want to overwind the pocket watch. The setting movement works quite well though, the case is a Philadelphia watch case company watch, guaranteed 20 years, which I believe means that it is 10 karat gold. There is no indication of jewels on the pocket watch, so I assume there are no jewels. The hunting case is a beautiful, what looks to be floral pattern, very uniform gold tone. The hinge for the front cover has good spring, but when the stem is pushed down, the latch does not want to let go of the door, so sometimes it needs a little help being freed up, but the spring action is good. Overall, the watch is in beautiful condition, with a clean white dial, Sharp numbers, and the movement looks to be very clean as well, however, again, the movement does not want to move on its own, I would venture it needs a good cleaning. With its faults, this wonderful Elgin national watch company, likely 1920s vintage, 12 size I believe, based on the one 3/4 in diameter movement, a terrific addition to any early American made quality pocket watch or timepiece related collection, or Elgin national watch company pocket watch or timekeeping accessory related memorabilia collection.. The front has a bit of trouble on catching from the
