Offered is this Griswold Manufacturing Company. size number 8 cast iron skillet cover, circa 1940's. A good reference is found on page 25 of The Book of Griswold & Wagner (blue book). Top of lid is highly embossed marked with its size no. 8. Underside of lid is impressed marked 1035 A (pattern no.). The lids outer rim measures 10-7/8 inches in diameter. It measures 11-5/8 inches from outer spout cover to outer spout cover. The outer diameter of the seal lip is 10-1/8 inches. It's weight is 3 pounds 8.5 ounces.

   This is a great looking skillet cover in excellent, well cared for condition. It has been thoroughly cleaned to the bare metal and baked seasoned with vegetable shortening. This gives it a dry, non-stick surface that is safe for cooking and helps prevent oxidation. There are no chips, cracks, rust, pitting or repairs.
