Here is a nice 18th century circa 1790 in date sailor carved oak figurehead model in good original condition. The oak surface has a nice natural dark patina from age with a few very old dead worm holes. Figurehead models were created to use as a scale template when carving the large version for a ship. Originally from Edinburgh Scotland from a maritime naval collection. Measuring 10.1 inches long, 3.5 inches wide and 3.2 inches deep.
