Pit Stop Performance PSP-3X.
High Performance Camshafts.

The PSP-3X camshaft is the same grind
as the old Andrews 3X camshaft.
This is the best camshaft grind ever
made for the air cooled Kawasaki
four cylinder engine for
street use with a displacement
of 1075cc or larger.

Pit Stop Performance looked for years
to find a camshaft that was equivalent
to the Andrews 3X for our high
performance customers.
There was nothing available.
Many camshafts came close, but none
would match the Andrews 3X grind.

Finally, Pit Stop Performance was
able to buy the Andrews 3X camshaft
master profile along with the rights
to the camshaft grind. The camshafts
are being reproduced for Pit Stop
Performance only. The profile is now
known as the PSP-3X.

The PSP-3X provides excellent mid range
and top end power for hot street engines.
The PSP-3X will allow your high performance
street engine with MTC 10.5:1 compression ratio
pistons to run cooler. The increased duration
of the camshaft profile will decrease the
cranking compression of the engine. This
will allow the engine to run much cooler.
Idle and bottom end throttle response are
amazing using the PSP-3X camshafts.
The PSP-3X utilizes a stock base circle
making head setup easier.
The PSP-3X is also available with a reduced
base circle of 1.050" for applications using oversized
valves which requires sinking the valve seats approximately
.050" to .060". This allows more of the valve stem to remain
intact. The reduced base circle camshaft has the part number
PSP-3X-1.050
The PSP-3X must be used with
heavy duty valve springs.
The PSP-3X has .418" lift with
282 degrees duration at .030" lift
The PSP-3X is the largest camshaft that can
be used with stock on top shims.
This camshaft requires head and valve cover clearancing.

This Pit Stop Performance camshaft kit contains the following:

Intake camshaft with above specifications.
Exhaust camshaft with above specifications.


The first picture shows a graphic depiction of a
stock camshaft compared to the PSP-3X.
The amount of time that the valve is open
at a given lift is represented by the area
under the bell shaped curve for each camshaft.
The area under the PSP-3X curve is
approximately 40% more than
the area under the stock camshaft curve.

This set of camshafts will fit
Kawasaki Z1, KZ900, KZ1000, KZ1100, GPZ1100 & ZX1100A models.
This covers all models
from 1973 through 2005 including J model and P model (Police).
Use in 1981 and later model requires the use
of APE adjustable camshaft sprockets for Hy-vo cam chain.

This set of camshafts can not be used
with stock pistons. Increased compression
is a must when using the PSP-3X camshafts.
It is recommended that a minimum displacement
of 1075cc be utilized with this camshaft set.

along with valve guide replacement
using APE silicone bronze valve
guides and Viton valve seals.
Your head will be clearanced for
the PSP-3X camshafts, assembled
and have the valve shims adjusted on
the bench with your new PSP-3X camshafts
installed. When it is returned to you,
bolt it on and go riding.
